Explanation/analysis

As the country was spread over an extremely large piece of land, across three continents: Europe, Africa, and Asia, the Ottoman Empire could not focus on its political foundations the vast land consumed the government's attention. Suleiman acted upon his selfish motives when he killed his ablest sons, rather than raising them up and preparing them to be his successor. He feared only for his authority, which eventually led to the downfall of Islamic Empires. With their vast territories, the Islamic Empire failed to recognize their competitors and their achievements. Europe, though less developed then it's Islamic counterpart, was absorbing and internalizing the Islamic achievements including sciences focused on its territorial expansion and succession issues Islamic empires failed to see the slow, yet steady progress which led Europe to experience and develop from its Renaissance.
